There was a Valentines Dance at school last night. I was amused at the end when they turned on the lights and kids in their good clothes mingled on the gym floor. (That's Sergei back there with a basketball in his hand.) The gorgeous girl in the center is an exchange student from South Korea. She is one of the prettiest girls I think I've ever seen in my life.

I'm sorry to ask, but how come a private Christian school dance shows girls in way less modest clothing that the secular public schools I've attended and my kids attend allows?
I was a bit stunned when that girl and her friend (on the left) walked in.
Our school has a lot of exchange students and this was the first dance where kids from other schools could come, so one of the mothers, who places exchange students, brought all the kids from public schools to this dance.
I was startled - but no one else mentioned it, frankly. I think our girls always look a lot more modest.
My first thought was, ugh, how come she is not freezing, it's winter!
My first impression was that the dress was suited to a college age girl at a formal function and not a high school dance.
As for being cold, I'm sure once she started dancing she was fine.
Yes, she is very pretty.
